Fire Destroys Mobile Home Yesterday on South Holly Springs Road

Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a structure fire yesterday afternoon at approximately 3:30 at 524 South Holly Springs Road located off East Cherokee Drive.

Cherokee County 911 received a call stating that a house was on fire.  Squad 24 arrived on the scene first to report that there was a large working fire in the back of the woods.  As firefighters got closer, they reported that an abandoned mobile home was fully involved.

Cherokee County Fire Investigator, Cheri Collett, reported that the 28 by 30 foot mobile home had been abandoned for approximately 20 years.

The fire was brought under control, but the mobile home was completely destroyed. Both lanes of South Holly Springs Road were blocked until the fire operation was complete.  No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
