Cherokee County 911 received a call stating that flames could be seen coming from the inside on the right side of the home.  It was also unknown if anyone was inside, however, there were vehicles in the driveway.  As fire engines were being dispatched to the scene, the caller advised that flames were coming through the roof.

Firefighters arrived on scene approximately 5 minutes after the call came in to 911 and found fire and smoke coming from the second story of the structure.  Firefighters began an offensive attack and started a primary search inside the home.  They were later notified that no one was inside the home at that time.

According to Cherokee County Fire Investigator, Ashley Pope, the house had a single resident and the fire caused moderate damage.  The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
