Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency will be hosting its 15th annual Guns and Hoses 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run on February 20, 2021. The purpose of the run is to raise money for charity causes selected by both groups. This year, the charity for Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services will be The Goshen Valley Boys Ranch which is a non-profit home serving young men in the state foster care system. The charity for Cherokee Sheriff’s Office will be the Cherokee Sheriffs Foundation which is dedicated to helping families locally in Cherokee County. When registering, you will pick the team that you want to represent and a portion of your fee will go towards their chosen charity.
Shirts will be made available in your race packet for all 5K participants only. (Shirt size selections will be guaranteed for those that register by January 31st. For the 5K race, awards will be given in both male and female divisions and in a variety of age groups as well. All 1-mile Fun Run participants will earn a commemorative medal.
Participants can pick up your race packets at the Recreation Center from February 15th - 19th from 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM or on race day. If picking up on race day, please allocate enough time to pick up packet and warm up before the race begins.
Dogs and strollers are welcome but you must start behind all runners. Plus, all dogs must be on a leash.
