Deadline Approaching for Guns and Hoses Run

Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency will be hosting its 15th annual 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run on Saturday, February 20th beginning at 8 AM. The purpose of the run is to raise money for charity causes selected for Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.  The charity for Cherokee County Fire Department will be the Goshen Valley Boys Ranch which is a non-profit home serving young men in the state forster care system.  The charity for Cherokee Sheriff’s Office will be the Sheriff Frank Reynolds Charities which is dedicated to raise money through events and fundraising to help fulfill the needs of the people of Cherokee County and assist other charitable organizations who support our community. When registering, you will pick the team that you want to represent and a portion of your fee will go towards their chosen charity.

5K RUNNERS (IN-PERSON & VIRTUAL): You will get a packet filled with your chosen t-shirt, running bib, and other goodies. Packet pick-up will be at the Recreation Center, 7545 Main Street, Building 200, Woodstock, GA 30188, on Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm, Friday from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, or you can pick your packet up on race day at Hobgood Park. If picking up on race day, please allow enough time to get your packet, warm up, etc. before the race start time at 8:00 am. If picking up at the Recreation Center, please come inside the lobby and our front desk ladies will get your packet for you in no time! We will not be shipping race packets. If you are registering for late registration, please know that your desired shirt size cannot be promised, because we have already submitted our shirt order.

VIRTUAL RUNNERS: You will only be able to run our 5K from Friday, February 19th through to Sunday, February 21st. After registering, you will be sent an email with instructions on how to complete your 5K.

FUN RUN RUNNERS: You will receive a medal for participating after completing your race course.

AWARDS: Awards will be given in both male and female divisions as well in a variety of age groups. We will have an in-person award ceremony for the in-person 5K runners as well as a separate awards for virtual runners.
